Laurie K. Nisco, PhD
Dr. Laurie Nisco is a New York State licensed psychologist in private practice. She has extensive experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families, and in group relations. She has served as a group consultant and has directed experiential weekend conferences on group relations through Teachers College and for the A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems. Dr. Nisco’s academic teaching appointments include Teachers College, Columbia University in the departments of clinical psychology and organizational psychology, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her doctoral research on attachment style has won awards granted by the Gerontological Society of America and the American Psychological Association. Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Nisco served the community by providing outpatient mental health services for both the Bronx Mental Health Service and the Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy. She is active in the International Society for Schema Therapy, and is co-coordinator for the Couples Therapy Special Interest Group. Dr. Nisco is a member of multiple psychological associations, including the New York State Psychological Association.
